Year 5 have finished this half term with an incredible week! The children have worked really hard and produced some top quality writing in their Literacy unit 'first person narratives' and enjoyed sharing their stories with Year 4 earlier today. The children were active in Maths as they completed a variety of games to identify and recall multiples. Finally, the children ended the half term in style as they played just dance with Miss Creed and Ms Minter!

In Year 3 this week, we have visited Beccles library to explore the library and read all of their lovely new books. We had an active maths session outdoors completing a subtraction treasure hunt to solve the clues. We enjoyed the Halloween disco and found out all about Modern Egypt in preparation for next term's history project. We are looking forward to completing our holiday projects where we will find out more about the Ancient Egyptians.

Year 2 loved consolidating their 'Team Building' learning in PE this afternoon. They played a variety of games which required lots of team work and supportive seahorses!

Well done to some of our children in Reception who have now completed Balanceability. They have been amazing for the last 6 weeks and we have seen great improvement. Mrs Woodrow has enjoyed seeing you all progress so much. You were all such great Persistent Penguins.

This Girl Can club focused on 'This Girl Can Be UNSTOPPABLE' In this weeks session, the girls took part in a mini move-athon to lots of different Halloween music. We saw some great dance moves. We are looking forward to starting a new sport after half-term led by one of our members of the club.

Thank you to Three Rivers Veterinary Group for coming in to school this week to help our year 4 children learn how to look after a pet dragon. We used their advice to improve our writing in Literacy.

Reception Robins and Sparrows have had a really exciting week celebrating Spot the dog's birthday. We have baked and iced a birthday cake, made birthday cards and enjoyed a party at the end of the week. We danced, ate cake and the children invited Miss Creed to come and join in the fun too!

Year 6 had a fantastic trip to Beccles library today. We explored all the different sections and read a huge range of books. We have borrowed library books, ordered some and applied for a library cards if we didn't have one. We then shared our third person narratives with everyone at the library. We have left our stories on display so please go and have a read at all the amazing writing in year 6.

Well done to the children in Year 4 who took part in our 'Big Sing' workshop today. Our guests were impressed with our singing and musical knowledge. It was a very special morning and a fabulous opportunity for the children in our school, we are very much looking forward to continuing with this project after the half term.

Yesterday the KS2 members of our School Council delivered the foods donated for the Harvest festival to St Lukes foodbank. Thank you for your kindness and generosity, this will be used to support lots of families.

Today was a music performance lesson for Year 3. We have worked hard learning a number of songs this half term but chose to perform 'Let's work it out together' for Miss Creed and Miss Grint. We hope you enjoy it too.

Our JRSO met today to complete their 'Safety when Trick or Treating' display. This includes information such as: -Walking safely using paths and not running. -Planning your route in well-lit areas. -Making sure a responsible adult accompanies younger children. -Using road crossings, if they are available. -Only knock at decorated houses with pumpkins lit. They will keep their display updated with lots of useful information throughout the year. Great safety information for all ages.

We have been having lots of spooky fun in Nursery this week. We have been reading Mrs Blackhat and discovered in our Woodland session that Dorothy Dragon had been turned into a rat! We created our own spells and potions to help turn her back again.

Well done to the Y3/4 Children who took part in the North Suffolk Sport & Health Partnership Nutrition Festival. The children covered topics from what food groups make a healthy meal? How much sugar is in fizzy drinks and the importance of eating fruit and vegatables.

Yesterday, our Y6 This Girl Can group attended a gymnastics transition event. The girls had a great time using all the equipment available and trying some new gymnastics skills under the supervision of the coaches. North Suffolk Sport & Health Partnership

Massive thank you to Beccles Bombers Basketball who have been supporting our 6 week community links Slam Jam program. Pupils go Friday night 5-6 to the SJLHS for 6 sessions. This was their last week and they collected their Slam Jam packs. Special thanks to coach Jermall and Tom from the Beccles Bombers Basketball

Year 4 had a fantastic visit to Oulton Broad yesterday. We went on the train, visited Lowestoft Museum and got to have a special tour of the working of the bridge.

Reception have been reading Spot Bakes a Cake this week and have been busy with lots of party preparations! We have made wrapping paper, playdough cakes, shopping lists for ingredients for our cake, bunting and also played a shopping list game.
