Wow, Wow, wow! We can not quite express how proud we are of these incredible young people! Two sell out shows and a whole school performance! The children were stars every single one of them! A massive thank you to our parents who supported the children in rehearsing, costumes and confidence. We have been working hard this week in Year 3. We finished making our Stone Age hand puppets and had a puppet show! Thank you to anyone who joined us for the Persistent share this week where we completed levels in our outdoor game.

This week Reception Robins and Sparrows were very lucky to have a visit from Happy Smiles Dentists. Kate came and chatted to us about the importance of keeping our teeth and gums clean and healthy. The children learned how to brush their teeth and gums in small circles and also about which foods and drinks are a healthy choice and which ones are an occasional treat.

Our children are so creative and love to show their incredible work off! We often take our writing to the local library for others to enjoy and we love the emails and feedback we get from the local community. What a fantastic week Year 4 have had! At the start of the week, Kingfisher and Woodpecker classes shared their Jumanji stories with one another—we enjoyed both reading and listening to each other’s work. On Tuesday, we had a brilliant parent share all about being persistent learners. We took part in an obstacle course with different levels of difficulty, which really challenged us to keep trying and not give up. We have also been busy creating Ancient Greek temples as part of our History learning about Ancient Greece.

Congratulations to Oscar in Y5 who received his new loan bike from Suffolk County Council Free Wheel Scheme. This is open for all Y5 children. There may also be the possibility for Y4 children to apply now. What does the project offer your child? A free bike: We can provide a suitable bike on a free long-term loan till the end of Y6 Cycle training: Your child will take part in free Bikeability training at school, so they can feel safer and more capable on the road. How it works for you: We aim to keep things straightforward and manageable. We will work with the school to see which pupils can benefit the most. Once your child has their bike, we will provide you with information on basic maintenance and safety, so you can help keep the bike in good working order. We hope you will encourage your child to enjoy the freedom and health benefits of cycling. Please speak to your class teacher or Mr McKenzie for more details on how to get involved.

Year 1 were proud to show their homework from this half term to the class today. They had created their own city maps, been on garden plant hunts and completed book reviews. Well done to everyone who took part in the showcase!

Congratulations to the Y5/6 Triathlon team on taking part in the North Suffolk Sport & Health Partnership competition at Carlton Colville PS. The Triathlon combines 60m swim, 600m cycle, and 600m run.The whole event was an incredible, confidence-boosting experience for everyone involved and I couldn't of been prouder of all the children efforts. Results to follow.

Nursery Owl's really enjoyed our Persistent Penguin share this week. We showed our grown-ups how amazing we are at perservering. When we find things challenging in Nursery, we keep trying! We sang our Rhyme Challenge songs to to our audience and had lots of fun joining in all of the activities. One of our Rhyme Challenge songs was Mary Mary Quite Contrary, we created our own Mary Mary gardens, carefully selecting the different resources we wanted to use. We were also excited to have a visit from the Dentist this week, we looked at our own teeth in the mirror and discussed how to take care of them. We were so impressed with the children's fantastic knowledge during this session. ''We might get cavities if we don't brush'' ''I drink lots of milk to make my teeth strong'' ''Daddy puts the timer on for 2 minutes when I brush my teeth''

Sporting Success On Saturday Elisia and her team Bungay town FC U11 girls competed in their cup final against Aylsham FC to secure a well deserved 3-1 win to become the winners of the cup! The girls have fought and battled there way through with hard work, strength and determination throughout the cup stages and we couldn’t be more prouder of them for their win 👏🏆⚽️ Well done.

"This Girl Can" group participated in a structured, multi-activity day at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich. The visit focused on combining physical activity with an introduction to higher education. The day began at the UEA Sportspark with a coaching session of Pickleball. Next Aura, a third-year Law student and Student Ambassador, led the group across the university grounds. Covering both the Academic and Social Spaces. The girls inspected lecture theatres, visited the library, and explored student social hubs. Aura hosted a question and answer session to share firsthand insights into university life and studying law. The day concluded with a final exploration of the broader Sportspark facilities. Hopefully this day has made the concept of going to university feel real and attainable to them.

On Thursday, we will be holding a end of half term picnic for the children! We will enjoy our picnic outside (weather permitting). All children in Reception to Year 2 (as well as all children eligible for free school meals) will receive a free picnic! All other childrn can book and pay through Arbor.

This week Reception Robins and Sparrows have been reading and enjoying 'The Bad Tempered Ladybird' by Eric Carle. The children wrote a sentence from the ladybird's perspective making him speak to others in a kinder way. We have also been hunting for minibeasts. We found lots of creepy crawlies in our garden!

Year 6 have been amazing this week! We are so proud of their determined attitude and for trying their best with their SATS. They celebrated all their hard work over the last few weeks with a Starbucks and a SATS paper fight today.

In Art this week, Year 2 used different images to inspire the wool colours they used for card wrapping. It was a bit tricky but they all persisted really well!

Year Three had such a great time today at the Time and Tide museum in Gt Yarmouth, comparing life in the Stone, Bronze and Iron ages. We took part in workshops where we hunted in the Stone Age, traded in the Bronze Age and learnt to defend ourselves in the Iron Age! It was great fun and we learnt a lot.

This week in Nursery, we are reading, ‘Ten Seeds’. In our Woodland Wednesday session, we have been using our gross motor skills to create a collaborative large scale picture to retell the story of ‘Ten Seeds’. We attached our paint brushes to sticks to encourage us to use large movements and use our whole arm to mark make. We have been looking at different seeds and have been planting in our vegetable garden. We are excited to go on our trip to Waveney Gymnastics later in the week.

Congratulations to the Y4/5 Girls football teams who took part in the ALT championship at Red Oak PS Lowestoft. The A team finished 2nd in their league and the B team won their league. The girls had a fantastic time.
